estara is South Australia’s peak body for spinal cord injury, a registered NDIS provider, and a charity. Since 1963, estara has supported people with spinal cord injury and other disabilities to live independently, safely, and with choice.

THE SITUATION
estara had recently undergone a rebrand and was in the process of hiring a new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). During this transition, MILCO stepped in to act as estara’s in-house marketing team, ensuring that the brand didn’t lose momentum and that its new identity truly came to life.
While the recent rebrand had introduced a fresh visual direction, the essence and warmth that defined estara’s culture and community had faded from its marketing. The brand had lost some of its heart and soul, and our goal was to bring that joy back.
OUR INVOLVEMENT
MILCO became estara’s dedicated marketing team, collaborating with everyone from support workers, NDIS participants to executives. This hands-on approach helped us deeply understand the organisation’s spirit and capture its true essence through marketing and storytelling.
Our focus was to reignite estara’s brand personality, strengthen its digital presence, and support the business development team with engaging and effective marketing tools.

To bring estara’s SIL properties to life, we focused on creating professional content and storytelling that felt real, warm, and human.
Designed flyers and brochures that highlighted key property features and lifestyle benefits.
Launched a fortnightly social media carousel and newsletter updates to keep the community informed and engaged.
Produced a video story with a current tenant, inviting potential neighbours to join the Brighton community.

SCI AWARENESS WEEK CAMPAIGN
Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Week is a key moment for estara each year. We built a cohesive campaign identity to make them stand out confidently and proudly as one of the leaders within this space.
Designed a unique SCI Week logo featuring a spinal graphic for use across all promotional materials.
Created posters, event promotions, and social media content to highlight key activities.
Produced daily blog graphics and carousel posts that summarised key health tips and linked back to full blog articles on the website.
Result:
A strong, recognisable campaign that positioned estara as a leader in SCI awareness and amplified community engagement.
